Vientiane, September 13th — The Government of Lao PDR has partnered with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to implement a project entitled “Climate Smart Agriculture Alternatives for Upland Production Systems in Lao PDR”. The project approach works with and through Lao institutions to increase local capacity to trigger demand for nutritious food consumption at the household level; while also supporting smallholder farmers to increase the supply of nutrient-rich foods, and improve farm system management.
